Part of what terrifies the rest of us about White people is so many of them seem to think they’re the police simply by virtue of their Whiteness, White men in particular. They really think they have the power to dictate our lives to us, and they’re fucking shocked when we don’t respond well to that. They’re made furious when other White people don’t fall in line, so if you think of yourself as anti-racist or a White ally - remember that.
